Pastor Corey Moore

Rev. Corey L. Moore serves as the sixth pastor of Holy Trinity Community AME Church (HTCC). He was assigned to HTCC by the Presiding Prelate Bishop Clement W. Fugh of the Fifth District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church on August 19 , 2023, at the 137 th Desert Mountain Annual Conference. He recently served as the pastor of Herbert Chapel AME Church in Flagstaff, Arizona, from 2020 to 2023. He answered the calling to join the African Methodist Episcopal Church at Greater Bethel AME Church in Phoenix, Arizona, under the leadership of then Rev. Sheriolyn Curry-Hodge in 2014.
 

Rev. Corey L. Moore joined Grether Bethel, ready to work. It was not long before he was serving on the Anointed Men of Bethel and Church School Teams. His heart and willingness to serve often lead to opportunities to assist other ministries when necessary. Rev. Moore was ordained as an itinerant deacon in August 2016 and itinerant elder in August 2018 under Bishop Clement W. Fugh, the 131st Bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
 

Corey Moore received his general associate degree from Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix, AZ. He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Arizona State University. He completed his first master’s degree at Fuller Theological Seminary in Divinity. He completed his second master’s degree at Grand Canyon University, a Master’s in the Science of Psychology with an emphasis in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Rev. Moore is currently working on his dissertation for the Doctor of Philosophy in General Psychology with an emphasis on Cognition and Instruction at Grand Canyon University.

 

Corey Moore started his career in higher education at Maricopa Community College at Paradise Valley Community College as an administrative assistant for the ACE program. He later transferred to the

Upward Bound program at South Mountain Community College as an advisor.
 

In 2012, we were promoted to an academic advisor position at Phoenix College, where he worked for the next seven years. He was allowed to teach his first Introduction to Psychology course at Phoenix College. Since then, he has taught as an adjunct for PC, SMCC, GC, CGC, and GCU. He is currently a full-time faculty member at South Mountain Community College teaching various psychology courses.
 

As a coach, speaker, and trainer, Rev. Corey Moore is a John C. Maxwell Team member. He is the CEO of Black Champions, LLC, the umbrella organization for his coaching, speaking, and training services. Black Champions, where we provide a safe space and resources for Black males (and others) to achieve their career and financial goals by discovering their potential, grasping their power, and living their purpose.
 

He is the proud husband of his beautiful wife, Vashi Worley-Moore. He has four children: three girls and one boy. He has five grandchildren, which consist of four girls and one boy. He loves to spend time outdoors. When possible, he enjoys camping, hiking, cycling, and walking.

Dr. Vashi Worley Moore is a native of Phoenix, Arizona. She grew up and was groomed in ministry by her parents who graciously served the Lord. Evangelist Moore has been in ministry for 25 years. During this time, she has served in various capacities and various ministries. She leads in ministry alongside her husband Reverend Corey Moore, Pastor of Holy Trinity Community AME Church. On Tuesday mornings, she serves as a radio and online broadcast host for Prayz in the Am show on Prayz FM. 

 

She attained her Associate degree in Communication from South Mountain Community College, a Bachelor’s degree in communication from Arizona State University, and a master’s degree in administration with an emphasis in Leadership from Northern Arizona University. Recently, she attained a Doctor of Divinity from Heart Bible Institute University. 

 

Dr. Worley Moore has been employed with the Maricopa Community College for more than twenty-two years in various capacities. In addition, she is a collaborative author of the Dreamsteer Visionary book.

 

Dr. Worley Moore is a great believer in community involvement and student success. She serves as the Phoenix College Christian Club and the NAACP/BSU Advisor. In addition, She serves as a Big Brother Big Sister of Arizona Board member and Big Sister. Dr. Worley Moore is the Social Action Chair for the Beta Mu Sigma chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. She also serves as Chaplain for the National Coalition of 100 Black Women (NCBW) and is a member of the Greater Phoenix Urban League Young Professionals (GPhxULYP).
